I wonder how in American society how wr came to this push and pull of gun reliance and gun control due to the gun problem.
People say people are the problem. And yes, I very much agree.
Re-reading history, killing, with all manner of weapons, not only limited to guns, is rampant.
Why is that the case where a peaceful/hateful middle ground is where most lay?
Survival seems to be the answer.
But survival means many things to many eras and generations.
Survival now may mean success or fame or wealth.
True survival means shelter and food but maybe we've worked past a lot of that and to an evolved survival that deems continued methods of survival despite the consequence.
Reading of the finding of this country by its European settlers tells of a much different eutopia then celebrated in most grade school curriculums.
Death and destruction, of people, lands, and commodities line the true story.
Because Europe had moved past the surival state of shelter and food, where the natives of the lands pillaged were more than content on living.
But the Renaissance also meant a survival paradigm shift to wealth, land, and power.
And with that level of survival, there are consequences.
We have moved into a much less of a revelry of a society to survive from success, power, fortune, and wealth, but in an attempted civil manner. While those instincts that caused so many historical atrocities, most hide them, possibly behind the idea of the guns they possess, but thats another blog for another day.
But there are still those who will act on those historical instincts, so to be surprised is ignorance, and to ignore the only true act of civility in further regulation is ignorant of who we are as humans, as movers, as those who justify the push or the pull to allow us to further 'survive', however we define the term.
